What do all of those numbers mean?

When you’re looking at your auto insurance declaration page, there are a lot of numbers by a lot of unfamiliar words. Here are some of the most common types of coverages you’ll find in a personal auto policy:

Bodily Injury Liability– Pays for bodily injury to someone else that you are legally liable for.

Property Damage Liability– Pays for damage to other’s property that you are legally liable for.

Uninsured Motorist– Pays for your bodily injury that was caused by someone without insurance.

Underinsured Motorist– Pays for your bodily injury that was caused by someone with not enough insurance.

Medical Payments– Pays for bodily injury to any occupant of your vehicle, regardless of negligence.

Comprehensive Coverage– Pays for damage to your vehicle caused by something other than collision (i.e. wind, hail, theft, fire, glass breakage, and deer). This has a deductible.

Collision Coverage– Pays for damage to your vehicle caused by colliding with another object, except for animals. This has a deductible.

Obviously, there might be different coverages needed for each person’s car. Auto insurance is unique to each individual person. However, Kraft Insurance Services can get you an individualized quote on car insurance today.
